Countryfile calendar

This BBC programme holds a competition every year for nature photographs which they then go on to make calendars and sell for charity

I thought you might like to see the "winners" for this year
and interesting the overall winners "going home" was taken using a compact camera

Wow!! My favorite is the "Huffin Puffin" because I simply ADORE puffins, and this is a unique capture of them. The winning shot is great - and isn't it amazing what a compact camera can do! The "incy wincy" spider is almost cute - those eyes!! Love the beaver eating the blooms, and the osprey catching its dinner (too small for me to see its meal - and that's fine by me), and the rest - all very good.

Re: Countryfile calendar

I too like Huffin Puffin it is what i think of as a happy photograph
although the winning shot is my favourite one
"in the balance" is very good too
They did show some of the other thousands of entries on the show and there where some i thought where better than the ones that "made it" but that is all down to individual choice !

Re: Countryfile calendar

I agree with your sentiments palms1, sometimes the ones we perceive as 'better' never seem to make it, however I am a huge fan of most of the photos on the competition having said that. I thought the winner was exceptional considering it was not from a pro set-up and the photographer had not intended to take the shot for part of the competition.

Huffin Puffin made me chuckle.
Going home is great too, nice example of seeing beauty where you are.
