Petrova JuliaN - all the same dreamy look

She makes very pretty pictures ... but what I really find impressive is the consistent styling

Dunno, but I guess if you can't tell it must be a masterful blend of both

Re: Petrova JuliaN - all the same dreamy look

Nice work. The photography/styling is really well done but the romantic/faux lomo look is photoshop. You can tell blurs and fades have been painted in--too well placed to be grease on the lens, if that is what you mean, and it says that she shot with a Canon 5D, not film. I think it is all digital fake of an analog look.

This look isn't that hard to duplicate, but requires an artist's eye and feel to do it well like this. I'm going to try to copy it for retouch on some wedding shots.

I've had these images on the back of my mind. I still want to try to replicate the effect in post. Hoping to get to it this weekend!

beautiful work, thats all that needs to be said. Who cares what has been done, you still have to have the idea and the talent to pull it off.

Agreed, of course. I think we all love the artistic vision that went into these photos. They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Nothing wrong with wanting to emulate someone else's style. There is no such thing as a true original: all artists learn from each other, it is part of the evolution of one's aesthetic. And learning new skills is always a good thing. Cheers!

Very nice. Perfect location and models, and I love the muted color.

Re: Petrova JuliaN - all the same dreamy look

Amazing consistent work. Few things to note:

1. Shot with ambient, I do not see any strobe work. Very diffused soft lighting.
2. Probably f2.8 shots
3. Selective blurring on top of that in post
4. Perfect color palette control in post
5. Volumetric lighting in some shots simulated in post

Lot of work went in to these shots.

If you are interested in learning her technique, well, she offers online classes:

You lose noting by asking her if she would consider offering you something text-based...
