Just came across this extremely cool historical photo website called SepiaTown! I was looking through Google images for a photo of a particular street in NYC where an ancestor lived, hoping to determine whether an old building presently at that location was there in the 1850s. And I actually found a shot of the very intersection from the 1860s that was originally posted at SepiaTown! You can see old photos and Google Street views side by side, and even upload your own images (I have plenty of this nature and may just do this).

Re: SepiaTown: Helping the World Map Its Past I can't sadly contribute, but what a great project!

Re: SepiaTown: Helping the World Map Its Past It seems to be new but plans on getting even better. I've always loved old scenic postcard-type photos and spent a lot of time in the '80s and '90s reshooting such scenes to bring them up to date. These days I do my own genealogical research and need to access info about places all the way across the country, so these types of sites are perfect.
