Very portable HD video/still cameras

Anyone using anything like either of these two teeny cameras (HD Hero has an earlier model already in production) - don't know if I would ever have a real use for these, but I have to admit to a fascination with the concept. As a "kid of the 1950's", it's fun to see things that remind me of science fiction movie hardware that seemed outlandish at the time.

Re: Very portable HD video/still cameras

I think the GoPro's look kinda funny but I wouldn't turn one down if somebody gave me one. :-)

We have a Contour on our Christmas wish list after borrowing one last February.

...I knew I'd just seen a cool promo video for the GoPro. If you're prone to motion sickness, have a heart condition or are pregnant you probably shouldn't watch.

Re: Very portable HD video/still cameras

The promo videos are all very fast, slick, and full of exciting activities that would make me quiver to think of doing. I'm not in the market for one myself, but if I were an active, sports-minded young person, all these types of cameras would be interesting to consider. It makes me wonder what photographic equipment will look like 10 years from now...

i wasnt much interesting in the gopro when it first came out, but they've jumped things up quite a bit here. i was especially intrigued by their 3d shooting outfit! very tempting!
