Photographed TODAY (or Processed today) con't III

old thread.

What did you photograph today? What did you develop/process in your digital editing software today?

Post it here with a bit of a description so we can all share in your fun.
had a bit of fun today with my camera settings. I've never used the 'P' program mode before. It's pretty cool once you know what it's doing.

Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today) con't

Gary - I love monty's creamy green background...the second shot has absolutely everything :-). The colors in the stinkbug pic (that's what I call it too) are really cool. The mantis looks like a wise old sage, no?

p-n-p Yup. Bad clone job trees. Nifty 'dead' stuff. You're post-processing is really dramatic. The BW treatment suites the girl with the face-paint perfectly

Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today) con't

good pics, nancy! glad to see you're getting into the manual settings. lots more you can do with your camera there! my favorite trick is to turn the light settings way down during full sunlight and get some good looking 'sunset' scenes while still in full light.

Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today) con't

Craig - I'll have to try that.

It's been really foggy here. It was so cold that I didn't feel much like messing with the setting on my camera. So these took a great deal of massaging in Lightroom. The collage was made in Picasa.

this was taken a few weeks ago. it was early morning, the cold was coming in and steam was coming off the lake, the dew was on the trees and grass and i just had to do some shooting.

oh my goodness Craig, that is stunning. Yes, when the world looks like that you drop everything, grab the camera and just go out and shoot.

thanks, plugs

and plugs, i'm pretty sure there's still a ban here in RP on posting celebrity shots. i ask you to read the faqs again and make sure and then do the appropriate thing. if you have permission, then fine.

Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today) con't

The exact moment of the winter solstice, Griffith Observatory, LA (each post-processed with a different preset in Topaz Adjust).

The sun shines through the hole and hits a sensor, which triggers something I couldn't see from the upper level but the crowd below could...

Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today) con't

Another shot from Griffith today looking south toward LA (original plus post-processed with Topaz Adjust and Lens Effects for the gritty "end of the world" or "just another smoggy day" look). No dodging or burning, just presets tweaked to suit.

Then add a fake sunset (Knoll Light Factory) and grunge (Retrographer) followed by some more vignette (Lens Effects).

This is the type of work I enjoy best.

PS: I stood at this same spot almost 20 years ago...

Re: Photographed TODAY (or Processed today) con't

That's very nice! What did you do in post-processing? Sorry about your weather. It's getting warm in LA again...

I stepped outside this evening and saw the Moon and Venus near each other. Shot with a non-DSLR Sony with tripod, about 1-second exposure, post-processed with Topaz DeNoise and Adjust. Composite shows different zoom levels, the greatest 12x.

some dodging, made an edit in Silver Efex to use as luminosity layer in PS. Created some specular highlights ... used C. Hollywood's 'freaky detail' method for sharpening (masked off with an inverted green channel mask)...

iow not much

that was actually a slide show made in iPhoto...that opening effect is called 'shatter' the rest is the 'origami' theme
