old style photo albums Does anyone know of a source of old fashioned style photo albums that came with black paper pages? These would be the type that used photo corners to hold the pictures. I see some that have a vinyl (?) page to hold the black paper. I would like to have a replica of the original style from the early 1900's. Appreciate any help you can offer. Thanks in advance. AL

Re: old style photo albums Hi, I am not sure of any album that is a exact replica of a 1900 style album, however there are acid free album manufactures that might be able to help you, A book binder would also be able to reproduce a bespoked 1900 style album . If you are just looking for a black paged album with the glassine interleaf and the little attachable corners, Henzo have a good range and probable easy to find.

Re: old style photo albums FWIW, you could try junk shops or those 'collectibles' shops that specialise in postcards etc. You may also see them at certain craft fairs. Depends a lot on your location.

Re: old style photo albums hi, well these are my thoughts.. probably the easiest ways is 1. go ebay... not kidding.. I saw a few 1920' and 1930's albums there 2. hit your small town estate auctions ... unfortuately a lot of families don't care about pictures and pictures albums but thier loss is your gain.. 3. just doing a web search and image search for vinage or old photo albums i was able to find places that either had old albums or had avail replica's this was one search results http://www.bing.com/images/results.a...MKT=en-us#x0y0 4. for the black paper saw a limited number of places that had fillers.. this is a image search that led places http://www.bing.com/images/results.a...T=en-us#x0y292 5. of course swap meets, your old/antique places ..

Re: old style photo albums Matilda, Repairman & Jerryb, Thank you all for the suggestions, but it's still not what I'm looking for. I would like to find a source of NEW old style black page albums. The ones like Grandma had in her closet. The ones with the shoelace type string to bind it together and horizontal black paper pages WITHOUT any vinyl type pocket page to hold the black paper. You would use the small triangular photo corners ( which are still available ) to hold the prints on the page. They used to be available everywhere 10-20 years ago. Maybe I'll have to go into the album business! If anyone comes up with a source, please let me know. Thanks very much. AL

Re: old style photo albums If you wanted to build one, I'd suggest a pack of acid-free black pages from Light Impressions, a hole punch, a shoe lace, and a pair of thrift shop covers of the type you're looking for.
