Glass Plate photography

Our Historical Society is digitizing about a thousand 5x7" glass negatives from 1908-1922 and amazingly the photographer made notes on the sides. Besides the date, he also included time of day or weather conditions and what I will assume are aperature settings. My question is about some other markings such as SCI., B&L & PRINCE. Any ideas?

Re: Glass Plate photography

A pure guess, equipment manufacturer names? I did not have time to check.
