copy and paste in pse4

ok, just got pse4 and installed today. how the heck do you control-c and control-v on a layer to make a new image of the layer? i select a layer and go to edit or hit control-c and all i get in the menu is 'copy' ghosted out and a beep when i hit control-c. what's the deal here?

Are you selecting the layer in the palette, or in the workspace? (you actually need both) Try select-all (ctrl-a) before copying, and make sure the layer you want to copy is active in the layers palette.

thank you, doug. i can see i'm going to have to actually read the manual on this one.

and what's with that ahc thing, adobe help center? i tried using it yesterday to find that answer and the only thing it came back with when i typed 'copy' was 'copyright'.

ahc.exe is for all adobe apps, so make sure you have the one you're interested selected in the dropdown.
