Question Installing Actions

When I install a new action in Elements (I have 2,3, and 4) in the Effects folder and then erase the Cache folder sometimes this works and other times it really erases my effects icons. I then have to go to the recycle bin and restore that effects cache. The ability to use the action is there but I have to go through OPEN and then hitting a different effect icon, hit APPLY and then that action comes up. What's up with that?

Cdawson,

Actually this should ALWAYS "erase" your Effects icons. The cache has to rebuild, and sometimes this can take several minutes (sometimes up to 5) -- more or less time depending on how your resources are being used. if you open the program and go immediately to the Styles and Effects palette, you can watch them rebuild.

You are doing the right thing, just give Elements a little more time to rebuild.

OK?

Can I use "actions" in PS Elements 2? If so will the ones that work in PS cs work?

Is there a special way to get them to work in the Elements series?

Thanks.

Steve
