Newbie crop

my photoshop 7.0 cropping tool is a little prone to over or under shoot while i,m cropping is there any way to gain a little more control over this tool dave

Try switching the snap function off, especially the "Snap To Document Bounds" found under the View menu in CS2, I think it is the same in PS7.

another alternative is to leave the snap to guides on....drag your guides to exactly where you want to crop within the image, and you will be good to go

The more the image is magnified, the more control you'll have too, and like what has been already said, uncheck the "Snaps To" function.
