PS Elements 3 Lost files HELP

Hi All,
Recently my son's friend kindly (???) put in another drive for more space. This drive is F. Normally I would have PSE 3 on C. Now I have found alot of files on my PSE 3 are broken and the browser can't find them. Also I can't save from Photoshop 7 to PSE 3. I've tried Save and Save as but haven't a clue where they are going. On PSE 3 on C drive the watched folder thinggie has disappeared and nothing appears to be saved from PS7. Why not use PS 7 for everything? I've become so used to using Elements and am very new to PS7 so find PSE 3 easier for printing etc.. Hope this all makes sense? Oh I am using Windows XP by the way.

Cheers,
Sylvie-Anne

Re: PS Elements 3 Lost files HELP

When you do the Save as... in either Elements or Photoshop, click the My Computer button on the left of the Save dialog. From there you should be able to navigate to the desired drive and folder.

--------

re: Finding files - here's one way
* Open an Explorer window
* Ctrl + F (to engage Windows' find files/folders dialog)
* Click 'All files and folders'
* In 'All or part of file name' type: *.jpg
* Look in: [My computer]
* Click 'When was it modified' ...then 'Specify dates'. Enter a date range
[to narrow the search]

You may have to tweak the settings a bit, but this is a good way to find "lost" files.

Does this help?

Talking Re: PS Elements 3 Lost files HELP

Thanks Danny,
All Fixed. Part of the problem was PSE 3 was not recognising that saved items should have been sent to F drive files. It was sending them to C drive files which no longer existed. All files found thank heavens. Again a BIG THANK YOU!
