Elements 5 watched folders

I've started using PE5 after very many years with Paint Shop Pro. The reason? Better handling of Photoshop plug-ins.

I'm having what may seem a silly problem with "Watched Folders"; perhaps I'm doing something wrong but it's not obvious!

This is what happens. I have "Watched Folders" checked and I've added the folders I want to watch. I've also checked "Automatically add files..."

What I expected to happen was that if I copied some images from a memory card to the watched folder(s), the next time I started PE those new images would automatically appear in the catalog (which is what the manual and 'help' imply).

But they don't. Nothing happens, even when I press F5 (refresh). The only way I can get those new images into the catalog is to add them manually. Adobe Active File Manager is started automatically and is running. There are no error messages. I can't think of anything else to try.

Is there something I've misunderstood or missed?

How do you get online support for PE in the UK? The Adobe website seems to send you round in circles.

Re: Elements 5 watched folders

I'm not trying to get rid of you here, but I don't have Elements so I'm unable to provide specific advice.

Another good place for Elements' related questions is:

Sometimes it helps to put out multiple fishing poles. Hope this helps.
