Any ideas? Should I trust the backup? How can I test it? Chris

Re: Should you be able to open the backup? Man, I just don't trust a program to make my backups unless it is a program specifically for that purpose. I'd prefer to do it manually.

I also keep a copy of the original images on another computer, as well as on a memory stick. So I have two copies as well as the originals. They now top 6GB and so a single DVD doesn't hack it (I've not bought an 8GB DVD writer). As for the original problem - I've found I can open the files using another viewer. So it seems as though the issue is not one with Photoshop's backup - but with Microsoft's inability to read the file in the first place.
