Anyway I have the map as a background, a shape layer with four shapes and 5 lines and 3 text boxes or layers. My problem is I want to be able to combine all layers into one picture(an annotated map) and save it in a format I can then paste into MS Word. I have tried merge, group, link. Same thing happens, the map and the text show up but the shapes and lines disappear. The opacity on the background map is 100% and the other layers, 0%. I know it is probably something ridiculously simple I have overlooked but I have wasted a lot of time on this. Can anyone please help me.

Re: Photoshop Elements 2.0-Layers and pasting to W I'm not an expert on Elements, but you should be able to save as and/or export the image to a JPG Another thought: you mentioned the layers, with the exception of the background, have opacity set to 0%. If the opacity is 0%, the layer will not show... Just a thought...

Thanks for the info, In fact that was the problem, at least I think it was the issure of the opacity. I created a couple of layers with varying opacity and did a "Group Linked" command and it showed up. Saved in JPG format and successfully insert it into Word. Thanks for your help. Jim
