Menu selections unavailable

After installing PE6 on my laptop I find that some of the menu selections are greyed out, e.g., resize image options are limited to only document size and cannot change pixel dimensions, scale, proportions, resample. In the installation on my desktop all options are available using same jpeg file. PE6 is a purchased version, not demo.

One of several things is going on:

* You have another window open that is getting in the way of making the desired selection (e.g., a dialog).

* Your image is not in a state where these options are viable.

* You do not have the image you believe active or it is controlled by another application or user.

* Problem with the installation.

Of all of these, the last is the very least likely. It is probably one of the first two. A screen shot will help.

I suggest (to eliminate most potential issues):

1. Shut out of Elements.
2. Reboot.
3. Open Elements again and rebuild settings.

You must check the Resample Image box on the resize dialog for the pixels to change. Otherwise you don't have that option available.

WIBD - I was fooled by the gray-on-gray menu colors into thinking that 'resample' was unavailable!!! The tilt of the screen also did not help.
