PhotoShop Elements 8.0 vs Windows 7

I've just installed PSE8 on my new PC (Dell Studio XPS w/Core i7-920 processor, 8GB SDRAM, 2 TB HD, nVidia GeForce GT220 video card) running Windows 7. PSE8 is running EXTREMELY slow (5 minutes to open Organizer). All the other programs on my PC run extremely fast. PSE8 runs fine on my XP laptop. Has anyone else experience the same problem? Any solutions/suggestions?

Right click on the icon, and choose troubleshoot compatibility. I have never tried this, but it might be a way to fix your problem.

Believe I found the problem. I had been restoring a PSE6 backup copy to PSE8. For some reason it got "hung up" and I had to force it to quit. Each time I restarted it PSE8 kept going back and trying to complete the task but would hangup again. I finally removed the Backup and got PSE8 to stop retrying. It works fine now.

After repeated attempts I have decided that PSE8 "hangs" when restoring a PSE6 cataloge on Windows 7. I now do the restore to PSE8 on my XP laptop and it works fine. All other functions of PSE8 on Win7 seem to work fine - just not restore.
