PSE V.4 Style Picker in text - moonglow

Hi, I'm hoping someone here can help me. For about a year I was able to add an automatic glow to text called Moon Glow (I think) by selecting the Style Picker and simply clicking on it. (I'm hoping the attached pic will show what I mean). But it now seems to have disappeared from the menu - do things get deleted/revised during automatic updates or something?

I really need to be able to use this facility again as I have a website and all the subcategories have this text effect in front of the images which works really well with the overall look of the site. I need to update some categories but can't!

I realise there's probably another way of doing this but I'm not an experienced PS user and the way I did it before was so quick and easy so can anyone please tell me if there's a way of getting it back?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: PSE V.4 Style Picker in text - moonglow

Londongirl, it is not likely that updates caused any deletion. Sometimes when you are using an application, or if the application crashes, things like brushes, layer styles, tool settings, are reset to their default settings. If you no longer see Moon Glow in you style options, check the styles menu or context menus to see if thewre is an option to Load Styles. Alternately do a search on your computer for "Moon Glow" to see if it shows up as it may be sitting in a PSE folder of presets. If it does not show up in the search it may still be there but it might be embedded inside a Layer Styles group that has a totally different layer. I do not have Elements so I can not go poking around for you but if you can not locate it perhaps another member here at RP will be able to help. PS, I have moved your thread to Image Help Forum.
Regards, Murray

Re: PSE V.4 Style Picker in text - moonglow

Hi there Murray and Flora,

Thanks for moving my post Flora, I wasn't quite sure where to post it!

Murray, thanks for such a comprehensive reply. I've searched my computer as you suggested but to no avail. I maybe should have mentioned before that when I first discovered the loss of this style, I uninstalled and reinstalled Elements so may have lost any history of it then.

As for your other suggestions, I've just added loads more patterns, brushes, effects etc. through the Preset Manager but so far, no moonglow I'm at a bit of a loss now.

Thanks very much for your help though.

Here are some free Glow Layer styles for Elements that may be useful. Or you can try to recreate it using the layer style dialog box.
