Re: layermask in cs2

The layer mask doesn't work, or Photoshop stops working?

Re: layermask in cs2

You can't apply a mask to the Background layer. You have to double-click the layer and rename it first.

Re: layermask in cs2

After i double click on the background layer i've create a layermask and fill it with black(hide)and tried with a soft white brush to reveal what i wanted but that's notworking, and it did work before.
thanks in advance.

Re: layermask in cs2

Hope this helps. Sometimes, when I'm working on different layers with masks, all of a sudden, neither the 'black nor white' are usable for masking. The 1st time this happened to me, I couldn't figure out what the heck I had done. Anyway, I still don't know why it happens, but what I found was that if I click on 'channel' in the layers palette, the 'mask' will be unchecked. So, I checkmarked it, went back to my main layers, and for some reason have to click on the 'eye' (even though it's there and the layer is highlighted) and then I can get back to adjusting the mask.

Hope this helps.
Susie
