Copy?Cutting

Ok When I do an animation in my Sigs, I need too copy and Paste a Lasso Area.
Then I need to Delete or Cut the same Area.
I first duplicate Layer, then do all on the duplicated Layer.
When I copy and Paste it takes the Lasso out of the Picture and I have too ReLasso then Delete. Sometimes it is a little off.
The Question is How can I copy and Paste then Delete the Item or Area without Having to ReLasso?

Re: Copy?Cutting

Another way is to right click, and select cut to another layer. This will cut your selection from the current layer, and put it in a new layer. Then you can either reselect by clicking on the eye for the new layer, delete it, move it, or whatever you want.

move a selection to its own layer

To move a selection to its own layer, press CMD+J (Ctrl+J on Windows) to copy the selection.

To cut and move a selection, press Shift+Cmd+J (Shift+Ctrl+J on Windows).

This should also prevent any shifting of the image.
