Question Changing Brush sizes in CS2 for Windows

I am using Photoshop CS2 in Windows XP.
I have tried to use the [ ] (brackets) short cut to increase or decrease the brush size but found that this does not work on my PC. I've reloaded CS2 to try to repair any corrupt files but I still haven't been able to solve the problem.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?

Thank you for your reply.
I tried using the bracket shortcut with and without the caps lock on & still can't get the brush sizes to change.

I also tried to use the shortcut on photos with different resolutions but this has not worked.

Re: Changing Brush sizes in CS2 for Windows

I've had this happen a few times with non-English keyboards (i.e. Portuguese/Brazil).
Maybe not your case, but you might want to check out you keyboard configuration.

Re: Changing Brush sizes in CS2 for Windows

Chiillin, I've tried using the shortcut on photos with resolutions of 180 and 230 pixels/inch.
byRo, I don't think that it's my keyboard configuration. I also use Painter X that uses the same short cut to change brush sizes and this still works in Painter X.
I just tried uninstalling and reinstalling Photoshop but this has not solved the problem.
I appreciate everyone's help.

Re: Changing Brush sizes in CS2 for Windows

Hi gmiyamoto, have you checked your Keyboard Shortcuts (in the Edit menu) to make sure the square brackets are assigned the way you think they are?

Something in the back of my mind tells me that it might be the < and > keys that do what you want in recent versions of Photoshop. But using the Keyboard Shortcuts menu, you can assign anything you want.

Re: Changing Brush sizes in CS2 for Windows

Thanks for the suggestion Damo.
Actually, my keyboard shortcuts were set to [ & ] but for some reason it wasn't working.
I changed the short cut to < & > & it now works.
Although it's not the default shortcut, it at least provides me with a good work around.

Thank you again everyone.
