Photoshop HelpTips, questions, and solutions for Adobe Photoshop users One tip or question per thread, please
Whenever i make something small with text in it it comes out horribly pixelated. All i do is bevel and emboss and drop shadow. Why is this? And by small i mean 4 inch or less. Shouldn't the text be smooth?
I'm assuming you are using Photoshop or PSP. You say "comes out"... is this text meant for print or screen? What resolution are you working at? If for print, increase the resolution of your file.
Lol im sorry yes i am using photoshop and i am a total newbie so im not sure how to check what resolution i am working with. I have PS CS 8.0 and i do need to print.
You have the option when you create a new document to set the resolution. For the current document. Use Image>Size and set the size and resolution there.
As Swampy said, you really need to create a higher resolution file from the start to get decent prints. A good resolution for printing is 300dpi for images and text.
Mac: Drag the font into... User's (your home folder)/Library/Fonts. It may require a reboot of Photoshop or the OS. to be recognized. I use a font manager, so I don't know the rest of the story.
