how can I get this effect?

http://cowbelly.com/decopawart.html

I love this effect. It's kind of like popart, andy warhall, but just seems to be a touch of it. All the tutorials I have found on popart have been just too intense. Any help/tutorial would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,

Janice

Re: how can I get this effect?

Looks like posterize and gradient color mapping was used. Like the look.

Re: how can I get this effect?

You can also achieve the same effect by decreasing the colour depth to 16 bit.

Re: how can I get this effect?

Perhaps I should have stated I use PSPv9. You may have to hunt around a bit for the cs one.

Re: how can I get this effect?

thanks, videosan, love it.... one question. What do I have to do to save it as a jpg file? I don't seem to have that option after putting the effect on it.

Janice
Using the method from videosean: image->mode->Indexed Color
Just change the mode back to RGB image->mode->RGB then save
