How to Arrange Adjustment Layers in Ps CS3 ? 1.) I have a portrait of two persons. They are treated differently so I have them on separate layers with layer masks. These layers are: P1 and P2. 2.) I also have a background: B 3.) I have some color correction adjustment layers. a.) Some of these are just for P1: C1 b.) Some of these iare just for P2: C2 c.) Some of these are just for B: CB ---------------------------- I now place my layers this way: Group1{ C1 P1 (linked as a clipping group)} , Group2{ C2 P2 (linked as a clipping group)} , GroupB{ CB B } That works OK. ---------------------------- Question: I also have some color correction adjustment layers that is for both P1 and P2 but not for B. How do I place these I do not want to place them both in Group1 and in Group2. I Want to have them in just one place. ---------------------------- /Goran Sweden

Re: How to Arrange Adjustment Layers in Ps CS3 ? Smak, thank You for answering. But (as I said) I Want to have them in just one place. (Otherwise I have to do the same corrections in two places.) This must be possible. I think this is a very common portrait. Two persons (put on separate layers) and a new (retouched background). After all this (CS3) is version 10 of photoshop and adjustment layers was introduced in Ps4. /Goran Sweden

Re: How to Arrange Adjustment Layers in Ps CS3 ? Goran - there are different ways . Unfortunately the description in your first post is quite difficult to understand. Layer Groups, or sets can be set to Normal mode, this will confine adjustment layers within them to only affect their contents. Layer groups can also be embedded within each other, and this may be your answer. Clipping (used to be called grouping) as Smak tried to tell you is another solution. There will be a way using one of these methods to do what you want. But failing any of that, properly constructed layer masks will do it

Re: How to Arrange Adjustment Layers in Ps CS3 ? Markzebra, thank You for answering. I name the color correction adjustment layers that is for both P1 and P2 but not for B: C12 Then I Try this: C12, Group1{ C1 P1 (linked as a clipping group)} , Group2{ C2 P2 (linked as a clipping group)} , (and Group2 set to normal instead of pass through), GroupB{ CB B } But this does not work because now all C12, Group1{ C1 P1 (linked as a clipping group)} , Group2{ C2 P2 (linked as a clipping group)} is merged and the layer masks turned to gray and no background is visible. There must be a GOOD solution to this ! /Goran Sweden

Markzebra, I did it this way now:. I name the color correction adjustment layers that is for both P1 and P2 but not for B: C12 Then this: GroupNew { C12, Group1{ C1 P1 (linked as a clipping group)} , Group2{ C2 P2 (linked as a clipping group)} } (and GroupNew set to normal instead of pass through) GroupB{ CB B } And now It works OK ! Thank YOU ALL ! /Goran Sweden
