Adjustment layers

Hello all, I've just registered with retouchpro, it looks like fun. I have a question about using adjustment layers (levels for example) and when cloning under that layer the clone dosn't match because of the adjustment layer...is there any easy way around this? Thanks

Re: Adjustment layers

turn off the adjustment layers when cloning, in cs3 there is an adjustment for the stamp tool to ignore adjustment layers...

Re: Adjustment layers

Hello macca and welcome to RP !

That is correct. The reason is that the adjustment layer does not effect every pixel the same way. So, if you clone under that layer (after you've created that adj. layer) the clone will not look right. You just can't tell how the pixels will look while you are working under that layer. You need to clone above the adj. layer only. You can either work on a merged layer (ctrl-alt-shft-E), a copy of a selection on a fresh layer, or an empty layer (as long as "sample all layers" or "current and below" is on).
