How do I invoke an action using a hotkey?

Not to hijack this topic, but in addition, is there a way to setup a hot key to open a new curves adj layer?

Re: curves cs4 trick?

just setup a bunch of customized actions to do all that stuff Flashtones, i use about 10-15 customized actions on a daily basis while retouching...which saves me tons of time. f4 is my curves action preset etc.

Re: curves cs4 trick?

Oh, I only use actions for complicated, muti-step procedures because on simpler stuff I find scrolling through the actions pane slower than doing it manually. But now you tell me I can program an action to a function key? Look out, it's a new game now!

Cheers KR.

Re: curves cs4 trick?

yes, it's great. everything i do throughout my retouching process is assigned to an action / function key shortcut. saves a lot of time.

i've got solar cuves, curves, hue/sat, softlight curves, db layer, lighten/darken curves, convert to 8 bit, different proofing profiles, ummm markup layer preset, add noise, blur noise, add film grain, an action that hides and brings up the adjustment panel in cs4, selective color, one that sets up a evening out skin color (color correction move) folder for me, etc...

today, we created a custom panel that holds 2 buttons, click on one button, it runs this java script that deletes all my paths in one shot, which is great for making final files...sucks when u have to delete all those paths manually! and one that does channels, in case your cleaning up a messy file as u go.
