Photoshop CS4 or CS5????????

Hi, my name is Amala and I have just completed my graduation in Bio - Technology. I have a huge passion for designing and planning to do a short term course in Adobe Photoshop. Can someone tell me the difference between CS4 and CS5 and suggest which one will be better for a beginner?

Re: Photoshop CS4 or CS5????????

CS5, I always try to get the latest version of Photoshop just because most of the tutorials online will be on the updated software. The photoshop geeks will have it turned inside out so just check online for some product reviews.

I have used the 30 Day demo and was really impressed with the RAW conversions, Puppet Warp and even the masking.

Re: Photoshop CS4 or CS5????????

For me, the big pluses of CS5 over CS4 is 64-bit on Mac (faster with more memory access) and Content Aware Fill. I use Lightroom for raw processing so Camera Raw 6.1 isn’t on my list. If however you don’t use Lightroom, ACR 6.1 may be worth the price of admission alone if you work with raw much.

Re: Photoshop CS4 or CS5????????

Buying CS4 now instead of CS5 would be like buying stale bread. You will have to eat it fast and it still won't taste as good. On the other hand, if you are starving and the old version is all you can afford, then of course that is what you buy.

Hi

CS4 has been discontinued, Adobe only sell CS5 now. Buy it now while you are still a student - the student edition is MUCH cheaper.

Yes, if you are still as student try going to AcademicSuperstore. They have excellent legal prices for education versions. I haven't found any difference between them and whatever non-educatgional versions are.
