mac and photoshop 7

I AM buying a mac after years on a pc -I have photoshop 7 with all the actions and plugings for all my work. I know my ps7 is for windows and will have to put the newer version of windows 7 professional on the mac. need to know if I will be OK. Also I am getting the adobe suite for the mac are there any plugins and actons that I can use?
Another reason I need the ps7 working is that I may have to tweek older art work.

I have read that but it never addressed the ps7 problem. I can get an up grade to the professional but I don't know if there is a difference when it saids upgrade.

I don't understand the reason for needing the windows version of ps7. You should be able to open older files in mac CS. Is it because of your actions?

Re: mac and photoshop 7

If you are buying a new mac chances are the new Op.sys (OS 10.6.4) will not run Photoshop 7. It has an Intel processor inside (at least one) and perhaps the older version will not work on this version if the intel chip. Don't know f'sure, just a heads up. A new Mac with a new(er) version of Photoshop will be able to open your files just as Steve has said.

Not sure that any of the plugins or actions will work in your new set-up, especially if they were for the PC version of P.S.

However one can run Windows on a Mac, I had mine running that at onetime, but,I lost a lot of stuff because of a virus, something I don't have with the Mac operating system.

Please keep us informed......Oh, and good luck.

Re: mac and photoshop 7

I would only use the windows part with the old ps7 and my website design program-the net will strictly be mac. I have to buy the windows program and you have to shut one down to use the other. I don't want it running at the same time that would take another program...
thank you
