Pat - I understand the need to control costs, but be careful with what you are doing. Upgrading to the latest version of Windows while running very out of date applications such as CS3 can result in worsening glitches and serious problems. (CS5 is the latest.) Microsoft won't support its use, and I don't think Adobe will either. You really should give serious consideration to investing in the upgrade. Personally, if I had to choose, I would invest in CS5 before upgrading to Windows 7.

Re: photoshop cs3 incompatible with windows 7

Thanks for the input Todd but you should know That I did not want to upgrade my computer died and I had to get a new one it had windows 7 on it. I am on a fixed income and fighting my way back from loosing everthing in Katrina my home my studio and everthing I owned so cs3 was a big exspense and I need to learn as much as I can from it.I would love to Upgrade but as soon as I do they will come out with a new one and I choose not to play the upgrade game. For now and as a very slow learner I will have to make do.I am sure you meant well and will take it that way. Pat

Re: photoshop cs3 incompatible with windows 7

Yes Pat, my reply was made with nothing but good intentions and no criticism intended. My condolences on your losses and situation.

I hate the upgrade game as much as anyone. I had just purchased CS3 when CS4 came out, and I had to fight with Adobe to get the upgrade. Then CS5 came out, and I had to upgrade for classes I am taking at the Jr. College.

Don't be too hard on yourself about your learning style. Photoshop and the Creative Suite are some of the most complex consumer applications out there and they are not easy to learn. Be patient with yourself.

Todd
