The i1D-2 is a fine product assuming your unit is in good condition. That’s hardly the issue in terms of noise (again, the raw you posted is a good stop under). A Macbook is not an ideal display system no matter the instrument you use for calibration.

Andrew, I think that my i1 is brightening the dark areas too much, because I can see the wall and the mirror hanged on it. I guess you should barely see it on your monitor. And I know that if you lighten the dark areas too much it will exaggerate the low light noise. I agree its an underexposed picture, actually it is just a test shot. But the noise appearing in my monitor was so clear in this picture (to me of course). Any way, I'm gonna e-mail x-rite to make sure that the problem is not in my calibrator. But do you think getting a monitor would solve the problem, or should I get a desktop?
