How to Shrink Canvas to Exact Edge of an Image?

Here's the idea:
  1. Use the Crop Tool to grow the canvas an arbitrary amount, say, a pixel or two.
  2. Now, since you don't know how much you grew the canvas, how can you get the canvas to shrink back to the exact edge of the image area like it was before you grew it (without using the History panel! )
