How to make browser generate thumbnails

This morning I copied a bunch of shots off my D100 to my pix todays folder.
I went into Photoshop CS to see what I had. NO PROB. This afternoon I shot some more shots and just copied them to -again- todays folder. [my file system is to copy all raw images to a folder named for the offload date].

I did the second lot while Photoshop was open. What I have now is this mornings off load as thumbnails and the afternoon offload as icons. I tried f5 in the browser and even closed out Photoshop and re opened it. Still the same.

Why can't I get the browser to make the thumbnails? I do hope somebody knows the answer.

If they're big files it takes a while to generate the thumbnails. How long did you give it?

I started to ask why someone else was up this time of night and then looked at your location. 8 hours ahead of me, ok. Good Morning to you.

I just [after I read your question] opened the Photoshop CS again to see as I had left it open for a long while after I had posted here. Only Icons alas.

Edit: Nikon D100 raw files are about 10 Megs + or - each.

I now remember that this isn't the first I have had this problem. I don't know what I did to solve it before but since I know there is a solution, I tried to figure it out.

I Clicked on the folder contents in Browser and chose 'select all'. Then I set ACRII try to open them, when it did I closed them withOUT saving the changes and WOW, I had thumbnails!

HOW DO i AVOID THIS IN THE FUTURE? Can you save pix to file w/out this problem if you always remember to close PSCS? I don't want to have to waste time using this method again.
