Studio logo question

In the past, mainly out of ease and simplicity, I have used the cropping tool and resized my files for various print sizes only because I have a logo file that I bring in and overlay with an action that I want to have a consistent size for each print. So, both the print file and the logo file let's say for an 8x10 finished print are sized at 8x10@300 dpi for the print file and 8x10@300 dpi for the logo file. I would like to just resize the dimensions and let the dpi go where it wants to naturally. Problem is, then the logo is a different size and it either appears very small or large on the print, depending upon how much of the file I may crop for the print. I don't know of any easy way that isn't extremely time consuming to have the logo be the same dpi as the final print size and incorporate it into an action. I was wondering if any of you have had to deal with this dilemma and what you did to speed things along. I want to keep things consistent from print to print, so that the logo in an 8x10 is the same size as the next 8x10 and so forth. Thanks for any help you can lend!
