| 16 or 8 bits? Hi guys, Was wondering if the pros in here use 16bit throughout their workflow? Using 16bits really makes the file sizes huge. Not sure if the improvements are worthwhile. Pls comment.thk you.             |

| 16 vs 8 bits IMHO, 16 bits is very worth it, at least until you get the basic tweaking finished. Photoshop isn't set up to use 16-bit at every setting you might want to enjoy after these first steps. This is when I change the mode to 8 bit and play around some more. The colors are richer, and I believe more true, when 16-bit is employed first. I have less trouble with out of gamut warnings when I use the 16-bit format as well. Just my 2-cents worth, Janet |
