Favorite cooking shows

I'm loading up my DVR with cooking shows. I've found a couple of favorites. "Good Eats" is fun and informative (his style reminds me a bit of the Kelby tuts, the humor is cringe-worthy, but lots of good information). The other is America's Test Kitchen, available in two flavors: plain and Country Kitchen. They have a very left-brain approach that I appreciate at this early stage in my learning. Lots of product reviews, as well, both hardware and ingredients.

What are your favorite cooking shows? I'd especially be interested in learning of good non-US shows.

Re: Favorite cooking shows

Thanks for the pointers.

They seem to have a lot of celebrity chefs.

Re: Favorite cooking shows

Non-USA; 2 fat ladies was a fun show.

USA shows; As a kid I watched these all the time; Frugal Gourmet, Justin Wilson's Louisiana cookin, Cooking secrets of the CIA, Cooking at the academy, Yan can cook. I think the PBS shows had a certain kitsch about them that made them interesting to watch. It beat the heck outta Barney.

Now there are so many shows out there I even think the Porn Channel has a cooking show.

Re: Favorite cooking shows

I've always loved 'Ready, Steady Cook!' and anything with Nigella Lawson on the BBC. Heston Blumenthal is fun to watch but I don't think I'd attempt any of his recipes.
