All expert says :- "for High End Look 'Dodge and Burn' is the best method".

So I advice Chris to include this subject during this event. Dodge and Burn is most confusing thing for all the intermerdiate retouchers, so the focus should be on every pros and cons for this method.

What you say, Doug ?

I think this is a fair price and deal.
I do this kind of seminar for my german photoshop forum(for about 6 months now) 1 to 3 times in the week and we sometimes have 250 people in the room. The connection still is good.
I guess its the future to do this kind of training.
So have fun and keep on going with more seminars like this

The transmission depends on your bandwidth. I have a 5MB connection via Charter and Chris' desktop was so real it was a bit disorienting at first (I kept trying to move a browser he had in the way for part of our practice).

You will see the full desktop

The software is GoToWebinar by Citrix. The best for this kind of thing, but expensive (one of the reasons I keep asking you guys to help publicize this)

Unfortunately, rights issues keep us from sharing the hi-rez version for this particular event, but I hope to be able to arrange it for future events.

I honestly have no idea how much dodge/burn is called for in this image, but that's not a bad idea for a future event.

Remind me during the session (there will be a window for you to type questions) and I'll make a point of asking Chris about it while he's working.

Wow. Just wow.

This software will support up to 1000 users, but right now I'm still hoping we sell enough tickets to pay for it.

If many of them understand English, invite them along. I know some retouchers that speak German, if there's enough demand we can do a bilingual event in the future.

The only way that I do skin is with paintbrush on a s/l layer. Take a look at my blog here on Retouchpro.

Its kind of what I am known for.... So needless to say, you can count on seeing it on that night.

But just a reminder to all who decide to attend. I am doing a retouch of the image and answering questions about the techniques I am using at that time. I know people have a lot of questions about other techniques I use, such as calculations, but those will have to take place at another time.

Chris

Hopefully it's available as a DVD, because my broadband connection has gone way south lately. No way I can rely on it for a broadband connection like this. Thanks, Cablevision, although I suspect the ten or so teenagers in the neighborhood are downloading movies like pirates lately.

You are absolutely right, I was mistaking the p.m. for a.m. but nevertheless a real bad timing for me because I'll leave on 26th and am not returning before evening 28th because of a business trip... and even if not 3 a.m. on working days is just not feasible..alarm clock calls at 6 :-( Please, please schedule future events on weekends

How late can I subscribe to attend, since I am not 100% sure how that evening is looking.
Otherwise I applaud this idea and I think you should look into some DVD/Download option later on since I might be real keen on having it and refer to it at a later date.
And I do agree that this is a killer for me in iceland with time zone and a 1 year 2 month boy that wakes up at 6 in the morning.

I can't guarantee everything will get processed in time if you join with less than an hour to spare before the event. Too many emails, possible delays, etc.

There has already been many requests for rerun/dvd/on-demand. I will join that group. The time would kill me: from 4 am -.
Everything else seems to be just fine and right but the time is not. I will sign in for a recorded session or download it - and even pay for it.

Chris,

Thanks, I hope I will enjoy you. Please cover some thoerical concepts for High End Retouching. So retouchers can excatly understand the difference between Normal retouching and High End Retouching.

Hope you wil figure out few minutes for it.

Ash

Quite agree! A 3am show is out when I have an 8am call time the next day I'd happily pay the $10 to download the vid...

re: Announcing RetouchPRO LIVE - 05/27/09

Some quick housekeeping:

You have to click on the link and register in the followup email you get a few hours after paying. Almost half the registrants haven't done that yet.

Also, due to my stumbling along this software learning curve I've learned that the chat window is for notes between presenters and is not visible to registrants. However, the question window is still there for you to type in questions, which I feel is the more valuable feature. I guess interested chatters could just use the chat feature here, as this chat window can be floated and resized.

re: Announcing RetouchPRO LIVE - 05/27/09

People, make sure you click on the link in the email sent after you pay. There are a few that haven't done this yet, though they registered days ago. I can monitor this now that we're new and just getting going, but once this gets popular (positive thinking) there's no way I'll be able to match up the lists easily to see who skipped a step.

Also, it's fine if you want to register with a different email address than you use to pay with (I do that myself), just use the comment field when you pay to let me know what address to use for the registration email.

The email with the registration link comes later. I emailed yours yesterday, but just re-sent it. Make sure it isn't marked as spam.

This should be a very interesting event. For those of you who think $10 for this type of instruction is too expensive, there's something wrong with you! I teach retouching and charge $250+. Chris is teaching content that I'm sure has taken him a while to develop doing his own research and experimentation. You really can't put a price tag on this kind of stuff. Even if I get 1 new technique that I haven't been already using it will be worth my time.

I signed up already and I'll put a post on my other local forum, I'm sure I'll get a few guys from there to sign up.

I'm glad to see this kind of instruction taking shape. Let's hope all goes well and runs smoothly.

I will do my best not to dissapoint Glam and everyone else. I will
be showing whatever it took to get from the before image to the after
image. Like eveyone else when they are retouching not all images use all
techniques. And I really do believe in basics.

But I am sure I won't dissapoint.

I registered and paid using my Partners Pay Pal account, do you send the email to the address on the Pay Pal account? In which case can my partner forward it to me so I can use the link, if she hasn't clicked on it at all??

7 people have paid but not registered. Remember, just paying won't get you in, you still have to click on the link in the followup email to register.

I remailed the few I could sort out definitely, but its more complicated than you'd think. (remember to let me know if you're going to register using a different email than you pay with. It's not critical, but helps in a situation like the one I just described)

re: Announcing RetouchPRO LIVE - 05/27/09

It's not looking good for DVD production. All my tests so far look really bad. Reducing down to DVD resolution turns anything under 20px wide into a mushy blur. Tuts have to be designed for DVD presentation, with zooming, etc., and this is kind of the opposite of that.

So, I haven't stopped trying, but if you were skipping the live presentation due to plans on watching it later, I wouldn't gamble on that.
