RetouchPRO LIVE presenter & topic requests

Who would you like to see as a presenter for a future RetouchPRO LIVE event? What would you like to see them cover?

Re: RetouchPRO LIVE presenter requests

Seriously? Not one request? No Katrin Eismann or Deke McClelland? Glenn Feron? Dave Hill?

I can't promise anything, but I gots to know who you're interested in.

As far as topics go, someone already mentioned product retouching, are there other areas? HDR? Panoramas? 3D? Photo restoration? I thought I'd get a least a few votes for photo-art.

Re: RetouchPRO LIVE presenter requests

Well, I don't mind if the person you get along is a big name or not, as long as they're good and know their stuff
I'm still quite new to retouching, but as subjects, I would also like to know about product retouches and HDR.
Another thing that I'm quite interested in is 3d. And I mean stereoscopic 3d, not 3d objects. I'm not so sure it's really popular but still, would be fun to learn from someone who knows about this stuff.

Yea, can't get enough of calculations and masking! Also would be interesting to se a fashion retouchers, (magazine/ad) workflow, case-study in for example color adjusting, curves and overall tweaking in a case like this;

Re: RetouchPRO LIVE presenter requests

I'd like to see some work done using 3d tools in CS4extended, HDR, advanced restoration, & even a presentation that covers the many quick tips in PS that aren't well known would be great. I HATE that I won't be able to catch this first one with Chris T!! At least I'll be able to purchase his dvd at some point.

Re: RetouchPRO LIVE presenter requests

I've been seeing some great watercolor effects and don't have any idea how it's done. Found a tut but it wasn't real clear to me. Seeing it done would make all the difference.

Re: RetouchPRO LIVE presenter requests

Some good suggestions, keep them coming.

I could also use some "who" suggestions, as well.

I want to Listen each and every terms of High End Retouching, and those technique which are really still hidden. I know its a very wide topic but experts can clear many confusions.

Re: RetouchPRO LIVE presenter requests

ok I would like to see a demo with Dan Margulis covering LAB
I think that Chris will still have a lot to offer after this initial LIVE event.
Carrie Beene would be great to show how she does beauty with the dual curve method.

Personally I have more questions with skin color than on skin smoothing. I don't know who would be best for that but who ever it is I will pay much more than $10 for a good demo.

How about Kate Chase from Kate Chase Presents? Or perhaps some of the artists that she reps.

I'd be interested to know who some of the better product retouchers are. Who're the people doings ads for the likes of Tiffany's, Bombay Saphire Gin, Clinique, etc?

Re: RetouchPRO LIVE presenter requests

I'd like to hear Eismann. Margulis on almost any subject would be great if you could get him.

On another note - how about something you might call Retouching for the Rest of Us. Let's face it - not all of us are asked to do what Chris does, unfortunately. I do some wedding retouching, often on originals that are, um, somewhat less than perfect (to put it charitably). Exposure problems, focus foulups, camera shake, mixed light sources, crazy color casts (sometimes all at once) - you name it. I suspect I'm not alone in this. One's being asked to make a silk purses out of a sow's ears - and quickly, given the pay scale - and I'd like to see how someone who's really good at goes about it.

Looking @ the "The demystification of dave hill!" thread with over 1,800 replies and nearly 200,000 views... Mr. Hill might be a good choice as a presenter

I'll second the request for Kate Chase or any of the artists she represents. Also, Erik Almas or Jim Erickson and/or their retouchers.

Is Trimoon still doing photo-art? He was one of the first people I thought of for a photo-art presentation, but I got the impression he'd moved to straight photography.

Re: RetouchPRO LIVE presenter requests

This photographer does extremely high end retouching in-house, if not personally (I've gleaned this from his conversations on a message board.) I'd love to see him/his retoucher demonstrate how they approach one of their car shots.

Re: RetouchPRO LIVE presenter requests

Chris on again, you can just keep him in rotation every 2nd time or so
Eismann would be nice too, but also lesser know people that juding from their portfolio knows their stuff could be interesting.
and the time when Steve Caplin is on (1pm EDT, 6pm BST) is great as thats 19:00 local time for me here in europe
if thats the time, every day is fine, but if you change it around to the time chris where on, weekends would be much prefered as thats 03:00 - 05:00 here in europe.
Great concept, really nice. this is only second to actually being in the room with the presenter. way better than trying to judge a 2pixels adjustment on a compressed video.
oh and btw, where the chris brushes made available?
Also a good general question for the presenters could be how much and for what they used actions (dont remember if you asked chris that). Or just let them talk a little about some other apps or services they use in their daily workflow, that might not be photoshop centered.
Again, thanks for the work and opportunity you presents to us
