Chris Thank you very much for sharring your knowledge with us. For a first it was Great.

Echo was a big probleme for me...Since i'm french it was harder to guess...once the echo was off it was perfect.
Could not find the box to post my questions...
The resolution was Superb on my NEC 2690
it would be nice to be able to download it so we could listen to it again a pick up the thing's we miss because of the echo...I understand it would be risky that some people would be tempted to put it on piratebay or something like that...perhaps there would be a way to connect for a second time and have the price drop by half so we could watch it again at our convinience?
I would also like to be able to sing on a list so we could be warn in advance of future webinar...I just got to know it the same day...Lucky for me it work...

I'm looking foward for more like this...

Chris & Doug thank you for this great event. I must say that I was really amazed with high resolution and smooth video. I'm not sure if it was only my problem, but I think it would be great if we could see full photoshop workspace view ( tool palette etc... ) because then will be no need for questions like "what tool you are using right now" ? or "what color you have selected" ? etc... thanx.

We could. The app can let you choose to Zoom in, fit on screen, or go full screen.
We saw Chris's entire screen, i think maybe you missed that option.

Bummer, post your specs so doug or someone can pass it on to tech support
if your setup SHOULD be compatible but didn't work.

Thank you, Doug and Chris for an excellent event! It was interesting and informative and I certainly walked away with new tips that I will incorporate into my technique. If anything I was hoping it would cover more advanced topics but I know you will get to that in events to come.

Thanks, Doug and Chris for an great event! -Echo was a slight destraction. Well worth the 10 bucks -- I would have spent 20 plus for the info received.

Thanks everyone for the positive reviews.
Things I will take note of next time:

Me zooming in and out. This might have caused a slow down on your end. I will change future images to 8 bit from the 16 bit I usually show. It does make for a large file and lots of info to translate and transmit.

My Workspace:

This is something that Doug and I are working out. I have a dual monitor setup and all the panels are kept on the other one. THe one that you didn't see(damn). THe workspace you saw was a quickly thrown together workaround that I did 15 minutes before show time.

More advance techniques:

To be honest, this is reliant on the image being presented. If you submit to Doug or myself what you would consider "advanced", I will do my best to incorporate them with the images that I have on hand. Its hard for me as presenter to know what level people are at, I mean really at. I have had some people tell me that they have been using PS for 10 years and know it inside and out. Yet when I did as they asked, they were more confused than before because they did not know some of the basics that led up to the techniques or goal that they asked for.
So please be honest with yourself about what you are asking for with your submissions to Doug or myself. I hate to disappoint.
One thing to know about me is that I will not go from step 3 to step 8. I feel that you need to understand as much as you can before moving on to another step. Sorry. Thats just me.

But I will try to meet your needs and wants. : )

Wow! I'm really sorry I missed this. I'll try not to miss the next one. I enjoyed reading the comments here. I haven't been around a lot lately but I hope this'll change. I got in kind of a rut and stop posting my artwork. This sort of thing is exactly what I needed to get me going again.

This will not influence the amount of data to tansmit, only the amount of data your computer has to cope with. It's the same as if you had a file with 100 layers, merging them would not change the amount of data to transmit. We only receive your 'flattened' screen so as long as the transmission itself is not in 16bit we will not see the difference.

Zooming in and out causes some trouble because big part of screen is changing at the same time. It wasn't that bad for me though, there was some lag, but not big.

I see a lot of people are disappointed to have missed the first event, and it looks like a non-live recording isn't a real possibility. How about a repeat event? Not enough interest? I'd come...
As to the time of the event, 3 am (as it was for me this last wed) might actually be more suitable than a more civilised time of day, as my bandwidth would at least be unhampered by other people using it...

I'd love to see an answer to this question (but then maybe I overlooked it in another thread?) I have in the past attended other classes that were presented in this way, and they were always being recorded and were available for viewing at a later time - not for free though, of course.
I think it would be a great idea to have these classes available for a fee, or even free to those who attended but a fee for anyone else? I don't know how you could work that out, Doug, but it would be awesome. I am really sad I wasn't able to attend this class.

Hi Doug,

You said above that you are considering doing 2 broadcasts of the same event for the different time zones.

We will and Chris consider re-doing his first LIVE event for those of us who could not make the first? I just feel like I missed something really great.

Of course, a DVD in the alternative would be great too.

EDIT: Doug, sorry about that, but I didn't realize I was in the other thread when I posted. This is just a repeat and you answered my question. "It's in the works."

Yes, I realize that presenting more of these online retouching seminars is something most of us who are members of RTP. But unfortunately, not everyone is available for the scheduled times. My recommendation would be have Doug/Chris record the seminar and then put it on a site where it could be downloaded for a fee. Many of us have PayPal accounts and we could then get access to the material. Just my $

I just watched the rebroadcast of Chris Tarantino's retouching techniques. He is truly a master at what he does.

Although the broadcast was worth the cost, the following suggestions would have made the tutorial even better for me.

First, I agree that the moderator should step out after the introduction and come back at the end to handle the questions.

Secondly, I got lost more than once when the tutorial changed subjects abruptly. For example, the parts about smart objects, saturation, and luminosity masks lost me.

I would rather have seen Mr. Tarantino show the various techniques adequately and then move on to the next subject in steps. For example, I thought a lot of time was devoted to working on blemishes, when only a few would have shown the technique and left more time to give more information about the subsequent steps.

I absolutely agree that the tutorial should be posted so that it can be bought/downloaded and absorbed in pieces.

These are only my suggestions. Again, the broadcast was definitely helpful.

I'm new to this site but have now gained a few very valuable methods from the Chris tarantinao broadcast, great stuff!
