Top notch again, I'd be interested in a future one with a strong focus on Chris' masking techniques .... Thanks Doug & Chris

Very nice webinar. I learned quite a bit. One point I'd like reviewed... When choosing light and dark colors for brushing on your soft light Cleanups layer (with 50% gray to start), what was recommended for adjustments in HSB for the light and dark sampled colors? I think you said lower brightness (B) for the dark color and lower saturation (S) for the lighter color. Is that correct?

This was a first class webinar. Chris does, as many others do, assume we know too much. He eventually slowed down a bit. Also, the lag of the webinar software is distracting.
Could he please give us the action steps for the "retouch" layer, etc.
Gary

Fasttrax, you are correct with the brightness and saturation.
Gary- Sorry about the speed issue. I tend to go a little quick as I often have to much info to go over in that short amount of time.As it was I had to rush over the final two or three layers to squeeze them in. I will post the steps on my blog for the action today.

Chris

This was an interesting webinar. Chris Tarantino did a fabulous job of covering a lot of territory in a short amount of time. Some of what he did was basic (but a big part of retouching is just mastering the basics), but some was absolutely inspired. The webinar was worth it just for seeing Chris's diagnostic use of solarizing curves. Thanks you Chris Tarantino for sharing your experience and incredible insight. And of course thanks to Doug Nelson for putting this all together.

Re: RP LIVE - Chris Tarantino 08/01/09 Feedback

I had a great time watching the webinar - even though I am a bit tired today ;-)
(Webinar finished around 3:00 am european time.)

Some little hints mean a lot to get your workflow more efficcient.
So I liked the use of your special "help-visualising-curves".

What I wanted to know is what would your tools be to make the bandwith of the skintone hues more narrow without loosing too much natural feeling.
In the picture you showed I had the feeling that the hues in the face were a bit cooler than in the shoulder and arms. Almost always in skin hue and saturation in different areas are not the same.
(I know that that image had to look natural and so that was not covered here)

Maybe this could be covered in a future event.
