Re: RP LIVE - "Christmas Postcard" with Steve Capl

I can relate. When Steve was about to do his Halloween Show, I lost my I.S.P. and missed the show. Any chance that the Halloween Show will be repeated? See ya'll next week.

Re: RP LIVE - "Christmas Postcard" with Steve Capl

Ever have one of those days?

I just sent an email to everyone that registered with details about either registering for next week's rescheduled show, or to get a refund.

Thanks, Steve, for posting the news here, but especially for having the good humor and professionalism to agree to do the show next Wednesday.

Small comfort, I know, but this means the ticket sales link is open again, and anyone that couldn't make this show will have a full week to register for the rescheduled show.

Doug, you have my sympathy. Been there. Done that. It isn't any fun.

There is an upside, however. I was go mad at myself yesterday for missing the time to pay by about 5 minutes. Now, if I can clear the afternoon next Wednesday, I will be able to attend.

Will his class also be doable in photoshop elements (7)?

Re: RP LIVE - "Christmas Postcard" with Steve Capl

Steve makes heavy use of layer masks. So if you do the mental transpostion of layer masks to clipping masks, you should be able to follow most everything.

Oh yes, he also frequently uses the pen tool, so you'll need to use an alternate selection method for that.

But even if Steve relied on virtually everything Elements can't do (which he won't), it might still be worth viewing simply for the peek inside a pro's mind.

Re: RP LIVE - "Christmas Postcard" with Steve Capl

Several people that registered for the cancelled show still haven't either reregistered for the rescheduled show or requested a refund. The link for the original show will not work, you need a new one. If you didn't get the email with instructions, email me at dnelson @ this domain.

Actually, I think just about everything in this show should be achievable in Elements 7. Although I do frequently use both layer masks and pen paths, this particular exercise can be completed without either of them.

Full steam ahead!

Here's a helpful page if you have audio problems (scroll 2/3 down)

If you haven't received your confirmation email, check your spam folder.

If you can't connect, verify you have Java installed and active.

Come back to this thread after the show and tell us your thoughts about it. Also, give us your requests for future shows with Steve Caplin.

Re: RP LIVE - "Christmas Postcard" with Steve Capl

Again, Steve Caplin does a marvelous show and shares both his skills and his tips. He is a marvel and a joy to watch, and I learn more with each of his sessions. His book is definitely on my Christmas list.

Re: RP LIVE - "Christmas Postcard" with Steve Capl

Hi all - great show Steve - I caught most of it but for some reason crashed out just as the girl was being added to the window and missed the rest of the show.

Can anyone help me out by giving me the steps he performed to achieve the final look of the image (I think he added a B&W adjustment layer and changed the vibrance from what I could see in his layers palette)... Anyone catch it who could help out?

Brush tool in combination with magic wand tool - where have you been all my life?

Cheers!

Jen

Can anyone post the technique of the Lady with the bandelero and the American Flag...I think it was the "Magical Realism" technique?

Re: RP LIVE - "Christmas Postcard" with Steve Capl

Thanks a lot Steve, that was a very enjoyable and insightful show.
I was following along (sort of) on one of my own images... Didn't have any buildings to hand so it turned into something quite different.

It's a Pinup so some might consider that NSFW, hence not embedding:

Re: RetouchPRO LIVE with Carrie Beene - 06/27/09

I attended my first webinar today with Steve Caplin and really enjoyed, and used my earphones (old style - not usb) for about one hour and 50 minutes before I just couldn't stand the pressure on my ears.

I tried my computer speakers and had to turn the volume up quite a bit, but the sound was great. I wish I had used them for the entire presentation. It would have been a lot more comfortable!

I too wish I could be able to purchase a download because being locked into one specific time, not being able to leave the computer because your cat is begging for food, or you have to attend to something else, is inconvenient at best.

Wonderful webinar Steve!

I always get some great new tips and tricks from you. I've got your book now, so I'm going to start working my way through the techniques.

Thank you Doug and Steve!

Steve Caplin is amazing. I learned so much from this webinar about using masks, filters and various blend modes.

Thank you.
