Re: RP LIVE - "Jewelry Retouch" (rebroadcast)

Hi Steve
yes, the printer I work with has given us a profile to work with - and it doesn't control ink density at all. That's why I wonder about it.
It seems to very seldom create a problem - do you think it's just because the prepress people and printer operators at the printer limit the ink densities on press?

Karin-
If you will send me the profile, maybe I can figure out what's going on.

Re: RP LIVE - "Jewelry Retouch" (rebroadcast)

Hi Steve
It's just a standard ISO Coated profile - FOGRA39
We work in an rgb workflow, and then convert, so naturally very dark area have a high Dmax coverage. the printer seems not to mind this.

Hi Karin
I didn't realize you are working with Euro standards, which I'm unfamiliar with. I tried to find and download the profile myself, but was unable to locate it.
The bottom line is that your printer is happy with the separations, so I wouldn't change anything. If his prep people are altering your files, it would seem to make more sense for them to just take your RGB files and do the conversion themselves, but again, I recommend that you just follow his guidelines.

A watch retouch would be wonderfully useful.
