For the 2 of you out there that have never attended a RetouchPRO LIVE show, let me recommend one of Amy's as your ideal introduction. While I get glowing feedback from all of our shows, and many people have told me how much they've gotten from each and every one of them, Amy's shows are unique in the number of "changed my entire way of working" comments.

Her approach flies perpendicular to almost all the received wisdom out there, yet she is one of the most in-demand and followed retouchers in the business. Many "gurus" and professional Photoshop presenters earn their living by making Photoshop seem as arcane and mysterious as possible. They earn their living by promising to reveal the mysteries. Amy dashes that approach on the rocks, usually in the first couple of minutes and then repeatedly throughout the show.

Even if you have no interest in portrait or beauty retouching, watching Amy at work is an inspirational thing. Since she has no secret techniques or recipes, her approach is portable to landscapes, photo restoration, virtually any aspect of image editing. When I go to the youtube channel for additional webinar rentals I get a pop up that The videos are not available for my country (I live in the Netherlands by the way).

This was my very first webinar and it exceeded all expectations, although I must admit that I accassionally became lost on the way. (I use PSE 8 and I am not that familiar with CS 4, but it was well worth attending)
At one point my video feed froze even though I could still hear the audio. A quick exit and a restart cleared the problem.

I too, cannot get the U-tube videos in New Zealand. Perhaps they are not yet available outside the USA.

A most enjoyable experience and very well presented. Thank you.

When Amy opened the "silver fox" in photoshop she invoked a set of pre-recorded or saved actions. What were these actions and were they automatically applied or did she work through the actions one by one. I suspect the latter but I'm not sure.

OK, first question was how did she "pick a color layer? " How do you do that? And where did she pick the color from?

What is "stamp visible?"

It was difficult to see what she was doing. Is there some way to have the brush be a different color so that you could follow what she was doing when she was cloning etc?

Let's see...

Amy's action makes the empty folders and layers she knows she'll eventually use. It also makes a copy of the background layer. So it doesn't "do" anything, just sets her stage.

Stamp visible is making a new layer that has the merged data from all the visible layers. I believe the shortcut is shift-ctrl-alt-E

Perhaps someone that watched today can help with the picking a color layer part. I monitor the broadcast software, but didn't actually watch today, so it's been a couple of weeks for me.

And Photoshop has no way to change the brush color.

How about what was the size of the feathering she used when she lightened and darkened areas of the face?
