Do a screen capture, paste it into a new document and use the crop tool to cut it out.
This way the original color as shown by PS is preserved (changing the mode didn't preserve the appearance well enough for my taste).

I am not shure if this is what I can show my customer though as perfect color reference...
left: the MC. right: what my customer will see, the RGB file with color tag. will he approve the nice brown tonalities ? ;-)

I am using the latest ps version on the latest osx.

Jonas,

the document is 8000 by 3000 pixels. I cannot do screendumps here, the customer needs to see all the details, every pore.
and yes, I could do many screendumps and paste them together. if I had the time... it is not just one image, there are dozens.

Re: RetouchPRO LIVE "Photoshop Myths & Mysteries"

The problem with color here is that you started with a non color managed format. Then you convert to RGB because that’s necessary for the output. You can convert to RGB then try differing working spaces to get as close as you can, then edit the RGB values to produce a visual match (as close as possible).

If I use Open as Smart Object to open woodsample3.psd, it looks correct and is in RGB.

Working on this end too. But I can’t understand why. Good call Doug. But why is it working? Another PS mystery (maybe Mr. Cox will know).
