'Night of the Hunter'

Any thoughts on 'Night of the Hunter' certainly my favourite Mitchum film.

Not too many films from back then are truely scary, but that one is. He (Bob) was great, such an outlaw. Back in the '50s when the worst thing you would hear about a star was that they had an affair, or hit a reporter(Frank)
Bob Mitchem was supposed to be a Pot smoker and boy was that bad.
He was also great in Cape Fear, and so was DeNiro

Sorry about the late response. I've read Mitchums biography and he certainly tried everything as did Errol Flynn. I think the Black and White photography gave the film a lot of menace.
