The Black and White Tool in Photoshop This is for a tutorial, CS3 or later, for using the Black and White tool in Photoshop to maximum effect. http://www.ifonlyphotos.com/id153.html I hope it proves useful. Feel free to email me if something about the tutorial is unclear, or if you just have a question.

Re: The Black and White Tool in Photoshop Very informative and well written. On behalf of many, thanks for all your hard work crafting this. On the next revision you might consider including a little verbiage on the use of the BW adjustment layer and why one might use it, i.e. non-destructive editing, instead going the Image > Adjust route.

Re: The Black and White Tool in Photoshop Eeek, you're absolutely right. By natural habit, I always create a duplicate layer to work from. But an adjustment layer would be even better. I'll revise that and update the tutorial.
