| | | Re: Weird retouching in the news I couldn't help but crack up when i first that today. I used to work as a retoucher for a local photog, and we used to do things like remove ears from people and such, as a joke.....
In this case though, I think the situation is a three light setup, umbrella on the left, umbrella on the right, and maybe one up above or in the background....the "cleavage" seems to be the shadow cast from the two lights on the side, from her denim jacket. And you can see the same type of softish shadow being cast around her neck from the collar |

| | | Re: Weird retouching in the news Its just a shadow and an over-reacting mother, desperate for 5 minutes of fame. Perhaps she shouldnt dress her 'baby' like a cheap trollop in the first place, a denim jacket at a shirt so low cut as to show this imaginary 'cleavage' isnt appropriate for a 'sweet, innocent' 7 year old.
If some sick perverted mind wanted to doctor the image to give her boobs, you would imagine they'd give her nice ones - not saggy gaping granny boobs. It just doesnt make any sense that it would be photoshopped. |

The part that most worries me is not the mother, the kid or the photographer but... Quote: |
Eyewitness News showed the photo to several photography professionals who all said it appeared to have been doctored and likely was not a natural shadow.
| ( bolding mine) Professionais that don't know that two diagonal "half" shadows will make a full shadow where they cross over?
Ah, c'mon! These guys are giving us a bad name.

| | | Re: Weird retouching in the news This image is defenitly NOT manipulated. And as an amature I am going to give those photography professionals the advice to find another job.
It is so obvious that those shadows doubled.
And if...if this image was manipulated, then I could do it way better! |

| | | Re: Weird retouching in the news Hmmm... musta been a really slow news day eh! All I could see was a crossover shadow, ignorance and paranoia but, alas, no cleavage. It can't be good for the little girl to splashed all over the news for such a lame and fickle reason. |

It did beat the story about the man that got run over by his lawn-mower.
