Turntable

I'm looking for a turntable, but not the record kind. I'm looking for something that will hold 2-3 pounds and rotate manually. All my googling comes up with is the record kind. Looking for something sturdy and easy to keep clean (I'm guessing plastic would be the easiest).

Ideas? Am I calling it by the wrong name?

Re: Turntable

I think you may be talking about a lazy susan.

Re: Turntable

hi,
As dennis pointed out.... lazy susan is the name you need to search for...

you will find all kinds, glass, metal, wood, single or multi tier, snak types, etc... and also all sorts of prices ranges!!

in yahoo i used for search criteria "glass lazy susan tray" , "wood lazy susan tray" , "plastic lazy susan tray" all without quotes... and got a ton of hits on them...

Re: Turntable

Lazy susans seem to be slightly different from what I have in mind. They all seem to be almost flush to the table. I was hoping for something more elevated. The closest thing I've found is made for decorating cakes, but it's also not quite right.

Re: Turntable

If it is for a computer, speakers, etc., check Ebay I was just there and they had one for 6.99-lazy susan swivel turntable. It was under lazy susan, on the first page.

Re: Turntable

Maybe this isnt quite what you are looking for, but of course it isnt the only one. It will hold 250 pounds. Hope this helps, or at least give you some ideas.

Re: Turntable

That example would be great (and you can't beat the price), if only it was on a non-tippable stand.

Re: Turntable

It can not be tipped.
The whole surface is the base... I think

Re: Turntable

Yes, but I need it several inches up off the table.

Re: Turntable

Well it might be difficult to find something with an adjustable stand.
Maybe it could be placed on a separate rest?

Re: Turntable

Roadhog's lazy suzan looks stable. So what you need is a riser or box to set it on. I would think that the local office supply store or Home Depot/Lowes would have something suitable. Something like this below. I have two different styles of these that I got at an office supply store. One holds my fax machine, with paper storage underneath. The other I also got at an Office supply store, the surface hold an aluminu mesh tray for paper clips etc, with a couple drawers for paper storage under the top surface. I removed two of the drawers and store my laptop under the remaining drawers. Hard to explain.. but picture should give you an idea.
