Flymo

Ok, I thought that I had seen a "water cooler" sub-forum here before, but maybe it was the "salon" and maybe I'm way off base here, so forgive me for posting this if I'm out of line. But, my husband ran across something today that reminded me of my beautiful years of living in Canada and my wonderful experiences of befriending people from the UK.

He found a "FLYMO". I remember wanting one so badly when I lived in Canada, it was the lawn mower that 'glided on air'. I think that for some reason it didn't do so well in the U.S., but I'm curious if anyone across the pond remembers this?

By the way, hubby wants to buy it so that we'll be the "only ones in the neighborhood with a Flymo". Anyone remember this thing???

Cheers!

Re: Flymo

This is right forum for the water cooler talk. But can't help you with the flymo. I'm holding out for a robomow.

Re: Flymo

Strange the way things are different across the waters

Remember "Flymo's " they havent gone any where!
There is one sitting out in my shed ( a relatively new version of one ) I have used Flymo's for years idealy with a grass collection box on it, and its great them being orange as you cant loose them in the grass

Probably the reason you want bigger and tougher mowers is that you have more grass than us

Re: Flymo

ah yes the Flymo, in our area only saw electric ones, biggest problem is that we locally all live on approx 1/2 acre properties and no-one could supply a power extension cable long enough!
