| | | How will you spend Easter? I was just wondering how many of you will be having a feast at home, go to someone else's place, or eat out. Tomorrow, as with most holidays, we will have seven of our kids (we had nine) over for a family get together . Their spouses and our grandkids will also be present (as well as a couple of friends). We always look forward to it. My wife does the major part of the meal preparations. She is usually cooking or baking for two or three days to get things done. After we eat, she always tells the kids "I'm not doing this any more. I'm not as young as I used to be." But after she gets rested up, it seems as though she's looking forward to the next holiday (and more abuse). Happy Easter to all.

| | | Is Easter even a holiday everywhere? It always seemed to me to be a kind of second-class holiday, simply by virtue of always falling on a Sunday.

| | You sure answered my post in a hurry. I doubt if the ink was even dry yet! I'm sure it isn't a holiday everywhere. But at our place, it doesn't take much at all to qualify as a holiday!

| | I'll be spending Easter in a drug-induced stupor
I woke up today with a bad cold, so had to cancel my planned family gathering. Easter here will be celebrated later in the week once I've recovered. One of the benefits of retirement is that the calendar has less meaning and we don't need to wait for the weekend to do things
I'll be thinking of you all enjoying yourselves tomorrow,

| | I think I'm coming to your house Ed. Sounds like your wife is one good cook.
Tonight we will be spending a late Sader at our best friends house for the Jewish Passover. Love that Matza Ball soup. Then tomorrow they will all come over our house for an Easter celebration. We've been friends for almost 20 years and it's like getting the best of both worlds. Twice as fattening too unfortunately. I'm going to give T's Death by Chocolate a try as a desert. I'll have to let her know how it goes over.

Margaret,
Hope you're feeling better soon. Sure is rough having a cold but not nearly as rough as when it's during a holiday.

| | Margaret,
That's too bad you're not feeling well enough to enjoy the day. But you're right about the calendar.
Debbie,
I sure wish there was a way you could send me a sample of that. I'm a chocolate lover too.

| | For my wife and I its Easter service (too cold this year for outside sunrise service)then brunch and dinner with the relatives. First yr our son is on his own in MN. No Easter egg hunt for him this yr. Going to miss that.
Easter is fun for us. We start a week before and deliver easter eggs to a couple nursing homes then a few days before Easter we do the same to the little kids in our area. Lots of fun.
Happy Easter all!!! PS In the attachments I'm the one in the vest.

| | | Bob - that is a wonderful thing to do. Who enjoys it more -- the nursing home folks or the kids? (I know the REAL answer is YOU, but I'm wondering about the reactions of the other folks.)
You are one handsome bunny. |

| | Although it's autumn here, the weather is splendid (30C expected) so I'm barbequeing a chicken over an open fire (called a braai down here) with a tandoori curry marinade.
(Maybe I should put that in the cookbook ) |
