Re: Missing Trimoon

Just to add, I too went to trimoons blog and found it not working a little while ago,
Like Danny he got me hooked on photoart, and I still maintain his art history brush's are the best !
he has got a photostream on flickr http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=Stephen+Lequier but hasnt posted for over a year there

but i do believe he has a active facebook account ( sorry no link)

If it is the impressionist plug in you are after, it is also up for download on
Sylvia DeGeorgio's web site
http://photoart-tutorials.com/free_stuff.html

Hope this is of some help to you

and Hello Danny

Re: Missing Trimoon

Hey Palms! It's an honor to be mentioned with Trimoon as having helped plant the photoart seeds in one as creative as you.

re: Sylvia's site as a source for Impressionist plugin
Excellent point and thanks for posting the link. I completely forgot she makes it available for download. Well done.

Danny just got the front page 2000 and can't see the plugin any where. Do I have to open the disc?

Re: Missing Trimoon

There are a couple ways to do this. I chose the following because it allows me to create and save custom Impressionist presets in using Photoshop 6 CS (32 bit) under Win 7 PRO (64).
  • Somewhere convenient such as your Desktop or a location of your choice create a folder named “Impressionist”
  • For the folder created in step 1 create a Windows shortcut. (More on what to do with this shortcut is explained in step ## below)
  • Open folder “Impressionist” created in step 1. Inside it create a new folder named

    Impressionist Accessories

IMPORTANT: Spelling of this folder is critical. Note space between words and capital letters. Do NOT misspell folder name Impressionist Accessories

In fact it would be a good idea to copy/paste the folder name from this text.

  • On the Front Page CD use Windows file search function to locate for file name “Impres_1.8bf”. This is the Impressionist plugin file. IMPORTANT: There may be multiple copies of this file on the CD, each for a different language.

The one you want will be in a folder named something like:

    ImgComp\
    enu\Plugins

  • Copy file “Impres_1.8bf” into the folder created in step 1, “Impressinist” (NOT into folder Impressionist Accessories)
  • Back to the Front Page CD: In the same folder where “Impres_1.8bf” was located should be a folder named “\Stuff”. Open “\Stuff”. Inside should be folders \Brushes, \Factory Settings and \Paper

  • Copy folders \Brushes, \Factory Settings and \Paper from \Stuff into
    \Impressionist Accessories
  • Locate the plugins folder for your 32 bit version of Photoshop. On my system it’s located here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Plug-ins

  • ## Drag the shortcut created in step 2 into:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6\Plug-ins

  • Start Photoshop and if all has gone well the Impressionist plugin will be available on the Filter menu.

Re: Missing Trimoon

Haven't been active here much of late. Life changes and they hit hard (nothing to do with my own health mind you). Yes, I miss Steve too. Actually acquired the Impressionist plugin from Steve's site (before he did asnailspace as I recall) many years ago now. I actually had this plugin on disk but didn't even know it (legal copy of Office 2000 Pro). lol

Steve's a gem and I do hope he fixes his site (folk at other sites I frequent have complained that they can't get to the Impressionist plugin anymore) soon if he hasn't already. Tell Steve that I said hey Dee Dee and glad to see you, Danny and Palms check in here from time to time too.

Re: Missing Trimoon

I'm also missing Steve; especially now. I just had heart surgery and during the recovery thought I'd get back into my photo art. I went back through several of his tutorials and relearned a number of good techniques.

I was surprised to see that his asnailpace.com isn't working. Has anyone tried to get in touch with him? If not, I'll try dropping him an email. I'd like his permission to bring some of his tutorials up to date and repost them.

He was one of the biggest influences I had when I was starting to do photo art.
