I love that cat!

One of mine waits for me to open the door and then runs away - wanting me to chase her and spend time with her in the patio.

Not quite right, cause as soon as i open the door mine changes her mind and stays outside ! ! ! ! ! ! !

some cats have reverse personalities. mine didnt. when he wanted out, he went out. when he wanted in, he came in. though, he did stay out for long times.

but, some cats do that. they say they want in and wont come. they say they want to eat and then dont. if you want to play, they'll automatically want to sleep and vice versa. i never had a cat like that, but i've seen them.
